inspired by archaea an ancient domain of microscopic colourful organisms that live in extreme environments such as geothermal springs, salt lakes & acid mine run offs
this playfully abstract unisex dress is made from my linen off cuts shapes & roll ends

these textile works are a joy to make each one comes out different with it’s own character, so the dress you will receive will not exactly the same but of the same kin ~ it’s very much trusting the process & you’ll come out with your own unique surprise!

Cut in a choice of colour palettes ~ I’d recommend choosing anything between 2-4 different colours for a nice balanced piece

the archaea dress fits neatly around the upper body & chest with a squared neckline then falls into a floaty & roomy A-line shape, with two small front pleats, hidden side pockets and a deep back pleat. the linen garment swings & it’s patchwork layering gives it a nice weight & the bodice is also lined.

this is a closer fitting garment so it’s cut to oB’s lettered sizing from XXS to 4XL

fits closer around the upper chest with about 2-4” wiggle room in the sides
(sewn with extra wide seam allowances hidden inside for any future ‘letting out’ alterations)

comes with a choice of bodice fit, this is a unisex garment & can be cut with curved bodice shaping for those with busts or prefer a more fem fit or cut with less shaping for those with flatter chests or prefer a more masc fit

made in an assorted mix of linens in a similar light to mid weight - I get my linens from Ireland, France and Lithuania
order a oB sample pack if you would like to have a feel first
sewn with organic cotton threads or poly cotton threads (depending on shades, make a note if you have a preference)
wash guide:
I always think it’s best to wash infrequently & avoid over washing, as this helps garments live a bit longer.
being made of different linens & finished with some hand stitched details handwash is recommended for this garment, it can also be dry cleaned
Hand wash with warm water & eco detergent, steam iron after washing
tips:
linen seems to get better with wear and age, it might take some wears for the garment to soften and really feel like yours!
